Tapas Movida at Jalan Cipete Raya, South Jakarta

It's not easy to get a good Spanish food  in Jakarta, especially in South Jakarta. Few weeks a go, we decided to have early dinner at Tapas Movida in Jalan Cipete Raya, South Jakarta. The building (or should I say the house) was previously occupied by Praline. Now, it's totally renovated with a different concept.

I grew up around the neighborhood, and over the years, the street has now becoming more popular than ever. Why? There are 3 French restaurants (Boka Buka & Epilogue), 2 Sundanese, 1 Padangnese, 1 Javanese, and more.
Anyway, when we entered Tapas Movida, we were surprised by its homey ambient. Seriously, the chef (who also the owner) came to speak the guests and all the staffs are very nice.

Although we're not familiar with the names, we decided to try 6 plates (or over, I couldn't remember) of Tapas. I tried the Spanish omelette, the salmon, the tuna, something with mushroom, and some other. They all tasted so delicious. Later in the evening, my husband decided to have baked chicken. The chicken is so juicy and tender, the sauce...oh the sauce is amazingly nice.

At 6.30ish the room was suddenly packed with guests, and many of them are having Paella (IDR 200K), can be shared for 4-6 people.

Churros with chocolate dipping
So seriously, I have no complaints about this place, except they only serve churros in the morning until late 12pm. But if you're dying to try their-super-delicious- churros, you'd better make your time, or just order via @tapasmovida on twitter, and tell them you'll be there around 12ish to get the churros. The reason why they don't serve churros all day long is: (drum roll) they use fresh oil everytime! Isn't that fantastic, no greasy-smelly-oil?
